While protected by the same solid metal housing as its predecessor, the new NCP2475se has received extensive hardware upgrades to improve image quality and video processing. Containing the latest Sony(R) Exmor Image Sensor and a hardware H.264 Video Codec Engine, these improvements can be seen and felt.
The new image sensor, a 2MP Sony(R) Exmor, offers a larger dynamic range making dark areas more visible and producing an even clearer picture quality at day and at night. Paired with improved optics comes a dedicated H.264 Video Codec Engine. This additional micro controller assists the main CPU with encoding video streams.
The result is a significant speed up in video encoding and compression making the NCP2475se an even faster camera.
